They drink a lot. Keep plenty of water in the vase.

Safe for cats and dogs. Any plant can still upset a pet’s stomach if they eat a lot, so keep it out of reach.

Not needed

Do this when you get home

  1. Cut the stems on a slant, 3-5 cm. Thick stems can take a longer slant.
  2. Strip all the leaves, or leave only the top 1-2. Leaves drink a lot.
  3. Use a taller, heavier vase. The heads are heavy and tip easily.

Day to day

  • Keep the water about halfway up the stems. Check every day. They drink fast.
  • The fuzzy stems grow bacteria easily. Change the water every 1-2 days and wash the vase.
  • If there are insects on the back of the disk, wipe them off with a damp tissue

Common questions

The head is drooping. What now?

It's almost always thirsty. Recut 3-5 cm and soak the stem in deep water for 1-2 hours. A little sugar or flower food in the vase helps.

The petals are turning black?

Usually from misting and then sitting damp, or from bruising. Don't spray the flower disk.
