Not needed

Do this when you get home

  1. Cut the stems on a slant, 2 cm
  2. Only 3-5 cm of water. Too deep and the stems go soft and rot.
  3. If the stems came in plastic sleeves, you can leave them on. They help hold the heads up.

Day to day

  • Change the water every day or every other day, and wash the vase
  • If a stem goes soft, cut the soft part off

What the colors mean

  • Red gerberaWarmth, going after what you want
  • Pink gerberaWarmth, a high love
  • Yellow gerberaKindness, friendship
  • Orange gerberaMystery, looking up
  • White gerberaPurity, innocence

* Color meanings are popular sayings. The thought matters more.

Common questions

The heads keep drooping?

Gerbera stems pick up bacteria and go soft. Cut off the mushy part, use shallow water, and wrap a bit of fine wire or tape around the stem to hold it up.
