Flower food is fine

Do this when you get home

  1. Cut the stems on a slant, 2 cm, and strip leaves that would sit underwater
  2. Stand them in clean water. A little flower food is fine.
  3. Somewhere cool, they last longer

Day to day

  • Recut the stems each time you change the water
  • Pinch off the spent florets at the bottom so the buds above can keep opening
  • Keep them away from fruit. Ethylene stops the buds from opening.

  • Purple freesiaLooking forward, romance

* Color meanings are popular sayings. The thought matters more.

Common questions

The top buds never open?

The room may be too cold, or they're short on food. Switch to warm water and add a little flower food or a pinch of sugar.
