Safe for cats and dogs. Any plant can still upset a pet’s stomach if they eat a lot, so keep it out of reach.
Full sun, at least 6 hours a day
Water when it dries, and water it through
15-28°C
Every 1-2 weeks while it's growing
Do this when you get home
- Put it on the sunniest balcony, or outside
- If it's a mini rose in a tiny pot, you can move it into a slightly bigger one
- When the soil surface is dry, water it through
Day to day
- When a flower fades, cut back to just above the first leaf with five leaflets. New shoots flower faster that way.
- Water the soil, not the leaves. That cuts down on black spot.
- Airflow matters. Stuffy heat brings powdery mildew and spider mites.

Common questions
Black spots on the leaves, then they yellow and drop?
That's black spot. Pull off the sick leaves, give it more air, and don't splash water on the foliage. A spray of carbendazim or chlorothalonil helps.
White powder on the leaves?
Powdery mildew, from poor airflow. Pull off the sick leaves and spray with kresoxim-methyl, or baking-soda water (1:500).
