Citrus leaves and peel are mildly toxic to cats and dogs. Eating them can cause vomiting.
Light
Plenty of sun
Water
Water when it dries
Temperature
5-25°C
Feed
A little phosphorus and potassium while it's fruiting
Do this when you get home
- Put it somewhere sunny. Indoors, if it's too dim, the fruit drops.
- When the soil surface is dry, water it through. Too wet, and the fruit drops.
Day to day
- Keep it off the heater. Too hot and dry, and the fruit wrinkles and drops.
- The fruit is edible, but New Year kumquats may have been sprayed. Wash them well before you eat any.
- After the holiday, pick the fruit, give it a trim, and it can grow again in spring
Common questions
The fruit is dropping one by one?
Usual causes: not enough light, too much water, or a room that's too hot and dry. Move it somewhere bright and cool.
