The whole plant is poisonous, especially the bulb. If a cat or dog eats it, expect vomiting and diarrhea.
Light
Bright light
Water
Water when it dries. Don't pour water on the bulb.
Temperature
15-25°C
Feed
Once a month after flowering
Do this when you get home
- Put it by a bright window. The stalk grows toward the light, so turn the pot a little every day.
- Water at the edge of the pot, not on top of the bulb
Day to day
- Once it's open, move it somewhere a bit cooler. The flowers last longer.
- After the flowers fade, cut off the stalk and leave the leaves so the bulb can recover. It can bloom again next year.
- A tall stalk tips easily. A small stake will hold it.
Common questions
Lots of leaves, no flowers?
The bulb is too small, or it wasn't fed well last year. After flowering, give it sun and fertilizer. In fall and winter, hold back water so it can rest.
