Meaning

Something high, good fortune, passing the exam with honor

Around Mid-Autumn the whole house smells of it. A pot can flower heavily too.

Light

Full sun

Water

Water when it dries

Temperature

Very adaptable, down to -5°C

Feed

Once in spring, and once before it flowers

Do this when you get home

  1. Put it on a sunny balcony or outside. Indoors, if it's too dim, it won't flower.
  2. When the soil surface is dry, water it through. Don't leave it sitting wet.

Day to day

  • It likes slightly acid soil. Now and then, water with diluted iron sulfate.
  • After the flowers fade, thin crowded branches and cut back the ones that shot up
  • Don't let it go dry just before it flowers in fall, or you'll get fewer blooms

Common questions

Lots of leaves, no flowers?

Not enough light, a pot that's too small, or too much nitrogen. Give it more sun, and switch to phosphorus and potassium before it should flower.
