Do this when you get home
- Wintersweet branches are woody. Cut on a slant, then split the end in a cross so it drinks better.
- Shallow water is enough. Somewhere cool, the scent lasts longer.
Day to day
- Change the water every 3-4 days, and trim the branch ends while you're at it
- A branch with lots of buds opens in turns at home. Keep it off the heater, or it opens fast and fades fast.
Common questions
Is wintersweet the same as plum blossom?
No. Wintersweet is in the wintersweet family: waxy yellow flowers, blooming in winter. Plum blossom is in the rose family, in red, pink, white, and more, blooming in late winter and early spring.
