Do this when you get home

  1. Cut the stems on a slant, 2-3 cm, and use a taller vase
  2. Strip the lower leaves

Day to day

  • Change the water every 2 days and recut the stems
  • Petals drop on their own. A sheet of paper underneath makes cleanup easier.
  • Keep them away from fruit. Ethylene makes them drop a lot of petals.

Common questions

Petals fall off at a touch?

Delphinium is sensitive to ethylene. Keep it well away from fruit, and buy spikes with plenty of buds.
