Meaning

Something fresh, love me again

An herb you can eat and smell. It grows fast.

A large amount can upset a cat or dog's stomach. A little is usually fine.

Light

Plenty of sun. Half a day is enough.

Water

Keep it moist. It drinks a lot.

Temperature

15-30°C

Feed

Once a month

Do this when you get home

  1. Put it on a balcony or a sunny windowsill
  2. When the soil is dry, water it through. Mint drinks a lot.

Day to day

  • Pinch the tips often. The more you pinch, the bushier it gets. The leaves you pick can go in tea or cooking.
  • In summer it may need water every day
  • After it flowers, the leaves get old. Cut off the flower spikes.

Common questions

Thin stems, and the leaves are sparse?

Not enough light. Move it somewhere sunnier. Cut it back and it grows in thick again.

Lots of little white dots on the leaves?

Probably spider mites. Spray the undersides of the leaves with water, and give it air.
